Long Weekend Trip to Paris April 2024

April 5-8

Some friends from the US were traveling to Europe and we meet them up in Paris for a few days.

April 5

we arrived in the evening the night before so we slept in a bit but still had to get some french pastries for a late breakfast. As it was friday we still had to work but went on an afternoon walk to find that the seine river was flooded, the first time to have seen that. after that we meet some friends for a delicious dinner at ambos restaurant.

We decided to walk to our lunch spot, le train bleu, to get a bit of exercise before we feast. tHIS restaurant HAD BEEN ON OUR LIST FOR A LONG TIME so we were very excited to try it for the first time. it definitely meet our expectations, a highly recommend even if it is just to peek in or to have a coffee or tea. the weather turned a bit nice for a few hours so we walked around before the weather turned very windy and cold we found a spot in cafe to have some drinks and enjoy the parisian way of life by sitting and looking outwards onto the streets and people walking by.

We woke up to to noises of cheers and helicopters so we knew the paris marathon had started. we hadn’t know that it would be happening this weekend so it was just a crazy coincidence. normally they run along the seine however due to the flooding they had to reroute the marathon. so we decided to take another walk before our lunch, we were unsure of the marathon route and what roads would be open or closed but we were clsoe to the restaurant so we would have plenty of time to figure it out. although the weather wasn’t great spring in paris is always nice to see all the beautiful flowers and trees in bloom at the various gardens around the city. it has almost become a tradition of eating at enyaa when we are in paris whether it is for lunch or dinner, it has to be one of our favorite restaurants in the city. after that we went to visit a museum, Bourse de Commerce - Pinault Collection, it has been under construction for while. it was quite busy maybe due to the weather and it being one of the “newer” museums in the city. we then went to le bon marche to buy a few things to bring home then off to the last dinner of the trip at les antiquaires. a fun trip to paris with great company and as always great food.
