this had been on our list for a long time to try but whenever we tried to get a reservation it was always fully booked. this time we planned in advance and finally got a table.

we didn’t realize that the restaurant was directly in the train station, so it did take us some time to actually find the restaurant. once we found the staircase it was an easy walk up, upon entering the restaurant you feel like you have just stepped back in time, the interior of the restaurant is beautifully ornate with several chandeliers, elaborate ceilings and walls. we were in awe of the whole place as we walked to our table.
there are some signatures dishes otherwise the menu changes based on the seasons. They also offer several tasting menus and an express menu if you are looking for some food before your train. the food was delicious and the servers were very nice and friendly, the service was good but a bit slow and not quite in snyc, maybe it was because of the lunch hour rush.
we dressed up as we wanted to fit into the atmosphere but a lot of people dressed pretty casual as there were quite a few tourists, people walking in after arriving by train or people having a bite to eat before their depaRture. SO YOU COULD CHANCe it and show up without a reservation. We went for lunch and it was busy but we would also be curious to see how the atmosphere is at night. the dining room is situated to the right and there is a large sitting area for coffee, tea, some food and drinks to the left. A recommend for a different dining experience in paris.
