Life in Germany December 2017
This would be a busy month because at the end of the month we will have our second wedding in Hong Kong, so a lot of preparations that still needed to be organised and finished.
Snow snow snow. it is really a beautiful sight to wake up when everything is all white.
December in Germany means Christmas markets and we went to a lot of them. i had been to german christmas markets in shanghai and the u.K. but these would be my first german christmas markets in germany so i was excited to finally experience the real thing. the first one we went to was in wiesbaden as we were there visiting for the weekend. It was also my first time trying white glühwein, which is made from white wine, less sweet and less spice than the regular glühwein. It is actually quite nice but you have to be careful as you end up drinking much faster to keep warm. A lesson learned too well at another Christmas market we went to later. Going to Christmas markets does get you into the Christmas spirit, all the smells, the lights and decorations, the Christmas songs, and the gifts. it finaly is beginning to look a lot like christmas!
the next Christmas markets we would visit would be in Augsburg, Munich and schondorf. Each similar but also slightly different. Next year I hope to visit more markets as there are some many differet ones around Germany and Austria.
the Next stop and final stop of the year would be Hong Kong for our second wedding celebration. What a crazy trip this was, all the wedding preparations and events before and after the wedding and trying to spend as much time with all the friends and family that came. and on top of all of that my luggage didn't arrive until a few days later, just in time for the wedding! A stressful but fun trip from what I can remember as it happened so quickly.
here are a few highlights of the trip or of what i had remembered to capture:
