August 25 2024

a friend took us to this restaurant.

menu

Baby albacore- young ginger root relish, shallot

bluefin tuna- bottarga, lemon, chive

warm medjool dates- brown butter, sea salt, date vinegar and pickled mussels- catalan aioli, soft herbs

edna’s sour milk cornbread- white cheddar, hatch chile, culutred butter, honey

killed chicories- bacon vinegrette, scallion, bread crumbs, mint

carolina gold rice- shrimp butter, parmesan, chives

32 oz rib eye- smoked bone marrow, sea salt

what a delicious dinner and i think we almost tried everything on the menu. we definitely ordered way too much because we wanted to try as much as we could. however i think we could have done without one or two dishes, the food was really good however it was quite rich as in each dish there was a lot of butter or some other form of fat, therefore making the meal quite heavy.

they have a bar next door where we waited for our table to be ready by getting a drink, it was also pretty crowded for a sunday night. it seems you can also order food there with a slightly different menu and we heard that the serve really good burgers but usually sell out as they limit the number they server per night. We definitely need to come back to try the burgers at the bar but also to try the other dishes on the menu. a highly recommend if you are on that side of town and reserve a table in advance.
