we had no expectations for our dinner at baroo but we were absolutely blown away from the beginning until the end. a highly recommend and an absolute must try, there is no la hype that you unfortunately have with many “poluar” la restaurants, it is simply an amazing restaurant. many people assume because it is a korean restaurant that it is korean barbeque, it isn’t barbeque but an eye opening experience and a deeper dive into korean cuisine, ingredients and culture. it was the first time in a long time that every dish was incredible, every bite was something interesting and extremely delicious.

they only offer a tasting menu with options or supplements for the main course. they also do offer a wine pairing, korean sool pairing and an alcohol free pairing. we decided to do the korean sool pairing and the alchol free pairing and this was also super interesting, there was so much we learned about different alcohols of korea that it is not just beer and soju that there is even korean wine. the alcohol free pairing was also fascinating, it reminded me of our pairings at noma and other top restaurants mixing teas, kombuchas, fruits and other unusal ingredients. we left the dinner overwhelmed with what we had experienced, i wouldn’t be surprised if it receives awards or recognition in the near future. you should go before it becomes hard to get a reservation.
