In most guidebooks or online for the best places to eat in Alicante, La Taberna del Gourmet is always on those lists so we had to give it a try.

spanish tapas is always good, simple fresh ingredients but done right. they have a large menu selection so you have quite a lot to choose from, from cold to hot tapas all the way to large main dishes to share like paella, seafood, meat and everything in between. the desserts are also really good, who would have thought to add olive oil to lemon ice cream and the creme catalon was actually quite light as they made it into a foam. We liked it so much and it is only a block away from our hotel that we went back for a small late lunch sitting outside on the street. a definite recommend for lunch, for dinner or for an afternoon snack.
