HUMMUS MASABACHA- creamy & chunky garbanzo bean purée, lemon, garlic, green zhoug, pita

HUMMUS DUCK 'NDUJA- tahini, parsley, cilantro, olive oil, pita

Both hummus were good, the duck was certainly richer in flavor.

GRILLED PRAWNS- harissa marinade, cured zucchini & cucumber tzatziki, fresh herbs, lime. the cucumber tzatziki was the most favorite part of the dish.

ROASTED CAULIFLOWER- hawaij chile sauce, lime leaf, crème fraîche serrano dip, pistachios, dried flowers. This was also delicious, the cauliflower had a nice spicy flavor but the dip cooled down the spice.

FRIED QUAIL- date & cardamom sauce, labneh, pickled celery, thai basil, green onion, rose petals. This was quite interesting as we felt that the sauce tasted like barbeque sauce which we now wasn’t. The quail was cooked perfectly.

OYSTER MUSHROOM KEBAB-lovage & avocado purée, sumac, meyer lemon, cilantro. These were delicious super flavorful, almost had a meaty flavor due to the grilled charcoal taste.

GRILLED DORADE- smoked whole seed chermoula, cilantro, lime, turnips. The fish was one of the favorites that night. It had a lot of flavors that worked together and the fish was moist but crispy.

PLUOT CLAFOUTIS- cardamaro soft whipped cream

PERSIAN MULBERRY ICE CREAM- black currant & raspberry orange blossom white chocolate

PEACH COBBLER- sautéed peaches, almond cake, farm cheese ice cream, baharat spice dust

All of the desserts were really good, the favorite was the peach cobbler.

The food was good, however we did not think that it lived up to its expectations, being on so many top lists. Don’t get me wrong the quality of the food and dishes are high class, there were a few dishes that were really good had nice flavors and textures but overall it wasn’t as impressive as everyone has claimed. it was good however it did not live up to its hype. Plus the ambience even for a monday night was very sceney, very la. the decor is very beautiful inside however it can quite noisy. i hope the buzz becomes less and hopefully then the food can shine a bit more. in all a bit of a DISAPPOIntment from the same people that brought bestia, which is one of my favorites.
