Benoit in Paris

First night with my parents in paris and we had booked dinner at benoit.  it was good food but very traditional french, so it was quite rich and heavy, i think it was a bit too old fashion for us.

starters included above plus lucullus-style calf's tongue, heart of romaine with mustard. the foie gras was delicious but a very large starter portion for one person. the escargot was tasty, very traditional taste but was good.

the main dishes were good but it was a lot of food and quite heavy.  i could only eat maybe half of my main as i was already quite full from the foie gras and buttery brioche from before.

but as full as we were there is always room for dessert right? so we shared two desserts iced pistachio and passion fruit nougat and profiteroles.  both delicious.

in all it was a good meal but the taste was traditionally french, so very rich in flavour, lots of butter and cream so we felt very full and heavy after the meal.  thankfully we had a few minutes walk back to the hotel to try to digest some of the food.
