Life in Germany May 2017

in these few weeks we were lucky to find an apartment and moved in right away.  however there will be a lot of work in the next few weeks and months ahead to make the apartment livable.  one shocking thing i learned is that even when you rent a place in germany it might not come with a kitchen, meaning no sink, no cabinets, no stove, no fridge, absolutely nothing just an empty room.  so busy weeks ahead, but in the free moments we also wanted to explore the surrounding area.  so a few quick trips here and there.

we went to Grainau, which are very close to the alps.  As the weather wasn't very nice we did't take the cable car up to Zugspitze, which is said to be the highest peak in Germany.  instead we walked around lake Eibsee, the views were actually quite beautiful despite the gloomy weather.  We definitely have to come back when the weather is nicer so we can see the view from up top.
