View of Frankfurt from the restaurant
My mother in law at mentioned about dining at the Henninger-Turm as something on her bucket list and as we were going to visit them over Easter weekend we had looked to see if there was indeed a restaurant on top and if they had a table available and we were in luck that they had something available. we knew we were in for an interesting dinner after quickly glancing at the menu.
we arrived a bit earlier as we were not sure about the parking situation and wanted to see if we could still get there before it got dark so that we could see the view with some light. we were actually quite lucky because the days before it was rainy and overcast but the clouds clear up and we had a nice view of entire frankfurt. the set up of the tables are to utilize the space and to ensure that every table has a view of outside. the viewing platform is one floor under so you don’t get an obstructed view.
the views are quite nice but the food also speaks for itself, the menu focuses on hessisches cuisine but with a twist or a modern update like using hessiche ingredients and dishes like handkäse and green sauce. it is a five course menu, first the amuse bouche of handkäse then the appetizer, starter, main course and dessert. each dish was very unique and delicious, it is hard to say which ones were our favorites beacuse they were all pretty good. The only complaint we did have was the main courses although tasty the portion sizes were quite large after having all those courses before. they could have cut the portion size in half and everyone would have still been satisfied. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as it will be a dining experience to remember for the views but also for the food. it seems like a great place during the spring and summer when you can have drinks on the viewing platform as you have a beautiful 360 view of frankfurt.
