New years eve in florence, we had to do a nice dinner to celebrate.
Apperitif
Creamed and fried cod with rosemary mayo, fried pappa al pomodoro, madelaine with 24 month parmesan and pear mustard, cannoli with buffalo ricotta and confit cherry tomato, focaccia with 7 cereals
cinta senese lard, Soy macaron and amberjack tartare, cooked cheek from colle di valdelsa

what an interesting experience, there was so many courses, so many foods and ingredients that I have never tried. it started with the apperitif where we got several tiny bites. the most luxurious and decedent dishes were definintely the cinta senese lard and the cooked cheek from colle di valdelsa. The tagliolino was also a favorite as well as the red shrimp and scallops. as it was our first time to celebrate new years eve in italy we were also curious to learn about italian tradition and we enjoyed that the restaurant also still celebrates these traditions. So we had lentils and grapes, which are promised to bring good things for the new year. during midnight we stepped onto the terrace where we had a nice view of the old city below, the horizon was lined with fireworks exploding all over. what a sight to see. we then went back inside to finish the remaining dessert courses then we were very full and tired.
it was a great new years experience, nothing crazy but great food and wine and excellent service. We would like to go back on a normal evening and try some other dishes.
