Jon and Vinny's in Los Angeles

December 17 2021

I went out with my best friend for an indulgent early dinner.

shaved zucchini, arugula, fennel, hazelnut, meyer lemon vinaigrette, pepato

Mozzarella sticks, italian breadcrumbs, pomodoro, parmigiano

chicken parmigiano, pomodoro, mozzarella

bronx bomber pizza- fennel sausage, mozzarella, onion, garlic, oregano

Not pictured- spaghetti limone, parmigiano, bread crumbs

Dessert time: italian rainbow cookie, la colombe tiramisu with chocolate sauce, and nonna’s lemon ricotta cookie

Don’t get me wrong Italian food in germany is pretty good and we are not that far away from the Italian border, but sometimes I do miss my Italian american food like mozzarella sticks and chicken parmigiano, it is what i grew up with and these dishes do not exist in europe. so i was more than happy to indulge in all these dishes plus more.

the salad was really good but quite a large portion, it had a nice combination of flavors. the MOZZARELLA sticks delicious but the chicken parmigiano was better. how i missed a really good chicken parm, it had a nice crunchy crust and a good balance of cheese and sauce. forgot to take a picture the spaghetti limone was very good and I had remembered why i don’t make this pasta at home more often. it is so simple but so good. although we were pretty stuffed we had to order dessert, the cookies were very tasty i wanted more rainbow cookies but do not think we could have eaten anymore. The menu is extensive, we barely made a dent in it although we ordered so much. But I would just go back for the chicken parmigiano and rainbow cookies.
