My brother and dad had gone to Pirouette earlier in the week and they really enjoyed the food there. my brother then found out that they have a sister restaurant near the palais royal so my dad and i checked it out on our last night in paris.

Amuse bouche- Salted cake with sweet peppers, zucchini and carrot cream. a nice savory bite to start the meal, the carrot cream was also interesting as it was bit sweet.
cod, white spinach, roasted carrots, coconut and lemongrass emulsion and peanuts. this dish tasted very asian due to the lemongrass and coconut, however these flavors were quite light and didn’t overpower the dish or the cod. the cod was also cooked perfectly as it can easily be overcooked and tough.
marinated bass, sesame vinegar, white miso and radish. this was quite good and refreshing, it could have used a bit less miso as it was very strong and salty in flavor but i can see that it was maybe used for the presentation. but the bass was super fresh and the marinate wasn’t too acidic.
orange blossom and saffron mousse, crispy cinnamon tile, and cocoa sorbet. this was a very pretty dessert and a quite interesting combination of flavors. the cinnamon tile had bit of a bitterness and earthiness, most of the time tuiles in DESsERTS tend to be quite sweet.
royal pigeon, celery puree, jerusalem ARTICHOKES, zucchini, tamarind and cocoa nibs. the pigeon was DELICIOUS, the right amount of gaminess and still a bit pink inside. as tamarind is very sour and cocoa nibs are quite bitter, i found the combination a bit strange. but maybe its because i prefer sweet or salty over sour and bitter.
hazelnuts sponge cake, apricot, red fruits and lemon sorbet. this was also a very pretty dessert that was also tasty, however for me a bit too sour. there could have been a sweetner element on the dish to help balance out the souriness.
i wasn’t able to compare this meal to the other restaurant, but my dad said that it was also good but the dishes catered more to an asian flavor, and this might be for the fact that the head chef is japanese while the other restaurant’s head chef is french. for three courses it is 49€, which i think is a great value for money. you will get very high class quality food that not only looks pretty but tastes great and that will definitely fill you up. a recommend if you are near or around the palais royal as it is just around the corner.
