Bistrotters in Paris

May 4 2018

This was my first time to this restaurant, but some of us had been there before.  they serve really good and approachable food.

to start off the meal we had an amuse bouche of cucumber gazpacho.  light and refreshing and a bit creamy, a nice cooling treat for a very warm day in paris.

foie gras bistrotters- chef's recipe.  when in france you have to have foie gras and well it never seems to disappoint.

veal, nuts crust, pleurotes and pak choi, and sage juice.  I had a bit of a taste the nut crust was an interesting idea which i might need to copy and the sage juice was absolutely divine.

smoked chicken supreme, corn cream and rye crumble, and sorrel sauce.  this was really delicious, the smokiness of the chicken, the sweetness of the corn, and the sourness of the sorrel sauce.  i would certainly order this again.

I forgot to take a picture of it but a dessert to definitely order is the french toast of brioche, salted butter caramel sauce and crispy chocolate.  i mean a french toast made with brioche bread, you can't go wrong then that.  a very rich and INDULGE dish but it is well worth it.

king prawn, nuoc nam juice, carrots, and bread pinion.  the sauce was INCREDIBLY tasty, a bit sweet and sour with some hint of fish sauce, it definitely tasted very vietnamese.

peas, mint granita, goat cheese, and lavender.  this was a very interesting dish as the goat cheese was so creamy and soft, then the mint and pea granita was so cool and refreshing.  i was worried about the lavender as it can be an overpowering flavor but it was just enough to add some floral essence.  it was also a pretty plate with all the different shades of green.

crispy pork belly, baby potatoes, fennel, and cider.  i didn't try this dish but it looked very good and i'm sure it tasted delicious.  pork belly and potatoes never a bad combination.

almond, raspberries and matcha dessert.  unfortunately this was a bit of a disappointment. the gelatin like layers of matcha and raspberry were not very strong in flavor.  all the layers had a soft consistency plus the lack of flavor, it definitely was a miss.

a small parisian restaurant with really good food in a friendly and cosy environment for a great value.  two courses will set you back 27€ and three courses will only set you back 32€.  for the quality of the food and the service it is well worth the price, i would strongly recommend.
