Social Eating House in London
March 11 2017
As we were spending the night in London, my job was to find a place to eat for dinner in London. I had remembered that i recommended social eating house to my parents on their trip back in September and they really liked it. So we decided to try it out and was very surprised that they had a table available on a Saturday night.
i have had the opportunity to try several of jason atherton's restaurant in shanghai and hong kong, but this will be the first time trying one of his restaurants in London. also it was a bit of an early celebration for my upcoming graduation.
We definitely ordered more food than normal as we were quite hungry as we didn't have a proper lunch that day. but nevertheless the food was delicious.
Salt-baked Jerusalem Artichoke, Iberico de Belllota, Arlington White Egg,Langres, Barbucine, Spring Truffle
Smoked Hummus, Spiced Aubergine Jar
Confit Lamb Neck Fillet, Butternut Squash, Sprout Leaves,Ras El Hanout, Sairass Ricotta, White Kale, Haggis
Slow-cooked Venison Loin, Roasted Morels, Dukkah, Truffled Gnocchi, Cavolo Nero, White Onion Soubise
We also ordered the wild mushroom from a bag with cep puree on toast as a starter, which was very tasty. i might try to make this at home. all the dishes were very delicious, each different and unique in flavor.
although we were already quite full we couldn't pass up having some dessert. the CARAMELIZED milk and brown sugar tart was good but my favorite part was the ginger wine, it gave a little kick and spice to the dish that helped mellow out the richness and creaminess of the tart.
in all it was another wonderful experience at a jason atherton restaurant, I hope to get more opportunities to try his other restaurants.
